Breach of privilege notice against Mah DGP in State Assembly
Mumbai, July 14 (UNI) BJP leader Gopinath Munde today moved a breach of privilege notice against Maharashtra DGP P S Pasricha in the Legislative Assembly.
Moving the notice, Mr Munde said, ''Dr Pasricha had told mediapersons that the police suspect involvement of a policitician in the Mumbai blasts and are keeping a watch on him".
''If he had specific information, he should have passed it on to Deputy Chief Minister R R Patil, who in turn should have made a statement in the Assembly. Even Mr Patil did not tell us anything about this when we were called for an all party meeting a day after the blasts,'' he told Speaker Babasaheb Kupekar.
Mr Munde said even as Dr Pasricha speaks of IB input about the possibility of terror strike in Mumbai, city police chief A N Roy says that there was no such warning. Mr Munde demanded that both the police officers be sacked with immediate effect.
Mr Munde said the DGP's comments to the media when the House was in session was breach of privilege of the members.
Mr Kupekar said he would seek an explanation from the DGP and decide on whether to accept the privilege notice or not.
