Boy meets with watery grave

Madikeri, Karnataka, July 14 (UNI) A nine-year-old boy accidentally fell into Mukkodlu river near Madapur in Kodagu district of Karnataka while crossing the bridge and drowned, yesterday.

Police said Hemanth, studying in fourth standard, met with a watery grave when he was crossing the bridge to go to school.

However, his parents came to know of the tragedy only in the evening when he did not return from school.

Police and public together tried to fish out the body, but it was swept away in the floods. Efforts were still on to recover the body.
