BMW Sauber flaunt 'twin tower' aerodynamics

MAGNY-COURS, France, July 14 (Reuters) BMW Sauber kicked off the French Grand Prix weekend today with a radical 'Twin Tower' look to their car in opening free practice.

Polish test driver Robert Kubica took to the Magny-Cours track with two vertical white fins standing proudly on the nose of his car.

The winglets, dubbed the ''Twin Towers'' as a nod to the Kuala Lumpur skyscrapers owned by Malaysian oil giant and team sponsor Petronas, had been tested by the Formula One team in southern Spain last week.

''It looks funny, so that's a good reason to run it,'' commented Canada's 1997 world champion Jacques Villeneuve, who said the package worked well at Jerez.

''We have plenty of antennas in front of us already, I don't like having the antennas for starters. But they (the fins) don't impact on visibility, in testing it wasn't a problem.'' REUTERS PM VV1524
