All Lok Sikshaks can not be absorbed: Government
Patna, Jul 14 (UNI) Bihar government has made it clear that all Lok Sikshaks can not be absorbed as regular teachers and advised them to apply through proper channel.
Human Resources Development Secretary Madan Mohan Jha told UNI that Lok Sikshaks were involved in educating children under National Literacy Mission.
He said these Lok Sikshaks were not regular teachers in any school and were given honorarium against their services rendered under the mission.
Commenting on demands of Lok Sikshak for their appointment as regular teachers, Mr Jha said eligible Lok Sikshaks could be recruited as regular teachers if they applied for the same.
He said National Council of Teachers' Education had fixed Intermediate as minimum qualification for appointment as teachers and Lok Sikshak possessing these qualifications would be automatically selected for recruitment if the they applied for the same while cases of others could not be considered.
Earlier, several Lok Sikshaks were injured while they were demonstrating to press for acceptance of their demand of appointment as regular teachers.
