Airtel launches Fixed Wirelss Phone in Kerala
Kochi, July 14 (UNI) Telecom services provider Airtel today launched ''Airtel Mega'' Fixed Wireless Phone (FWP) services in Kerala.
Addressing a press conference here to mark the launch, Mr Ramgopal Vallath, COO, Bharti Airtel Ltd., Kerala Circle, said that the service will be launched in a phased manner across the state, starting with key cities like Kochi, Thiruvananthapuram and Kozhikode.
'Airtel Mega' provides a home phone service with the advantages of instant availability, feature-rich instruments and mobility within the premises, he said.
With the launch of the FWP service, Airtel completes its total telecom services portfolio for all segments in Kerala, he said.
Operating on the GSM network, 'Airtel Mega' is available in postpaid and prepaid tariff plans. It will also offer value-added services including Hello Tunes, SMS and Caller ID.
In today's situation, where customers were calling far more mobiles than fixed lines, 'Airtel Mega' will offer calls to all local and intra circle mobiles at Rs 1.20 for 3 minutes, Mr Vallath said.
As part of the launch offer, it will provide Free 150 minutes (50 pulses, 3 minutes pulses) of calling every month to one Airtel mobile. The offer, valid for one full year from the date of installation, will be open only for connections taken before October 14.
Free 50 local and national SMS for the first month of subscription, free Hello Tunes subscription in the first month plus one Hello Tune free are also included, Mr Vallath added.
