AIAC conference begins on July 15
Chennai, July 14 (UNI) The two-day centenary celeberations-cum-conference of the Tamil Nadu chapter of the All India Ayurvedic Congress (AIAC) will be held here from tomorrow.
Talking to newspersons here today, AIAC president Dr S Dhanvanthri said 'Panchakarma,' an ayurvedic treatment method would be the main focus of the conference, among other things.
The conference would urge the Centre and the Tamil Nadu Government to set up a Government Ayurvedic College in the state, he said adding that the AIAC was stressing the need for starting ''Panchakarma'' speciality wings in all the District and Taluk hospitals.
The conference would be formally inaugurated by state Health and Family Welfare Minister K K S S R Ramachandran on July 16. State Tourism Minister V Suresh Rajan would participate in the valedictory session, he said.
A herbal exhibition would be organised as part of the celebrations for the benefit of students community in which some raw drugs would be displayed.
In reply to a question, Dr Premvel said AIAC also held the view that there was a need for standardisation and fight against quacks.
