Two peacocks seized from Iskcon temple
Bhubaneswar, July 13 (UNI) The Wildlife officials today seized two peacocks from the premises of the local ISKCON temple and registered a case against the temple authority.
Forest official sources said the peacock being classified as scheduled I species, no one could keep it without the valid license or permission from the Wildlife Department.
They said the temple authority neither obtained a valid license nor intimated the authority about possessing the two peacocks.
Though the wildlife department booked a case against the temple authority under the Wildlife Protection Act no arrest had been made so far. The seized peacocks were later released in the Nandankanan Zoo.
