Two Pakistani nationals arrested in Nepal
Kathmandu, July 13 (UNI) Nepal Police arrested two Pakistani nationals in connection with possessing explosives back in 2001 here early yesterday, media reports said.
Kathmandu district police chief Dhak Bahadur Karki said Gulam Hussein Chima of Lahore and Atta Muhaddin Siddhiqui of Karachi were arrested from a hotel in Naya Baneshwore at 0100 hrs yesterday following a tip-off, the 'Kathmandu Post' said today.
Nepal Police had seized 16 kg of RDX from their room here on April 11 in 2001 but they had evaded arrest.
Asked if the arrest was linked to the Mumbai serial blasts on Tuesday, Mr Karki said ''We cannot immediately link them to the Mumbai terror attack as investigations are still going on.'' The two had arrived here from Pakistan on July 8, he said.
Two other Pakistani nationals were also arrested on the same night from a hotel in Jyatha but they were released after preliminary investigation, the newspaper quoted police sources as saying.
