Students ransack Puri hospital after student's death
Puri, July 13 (UNI) The students of local S C S college today ransacked the out patients department of the District Head quarters hospital after a student died in the hospital today.
Police said Ananda Chandra Naik, who had consumed poison before being brought to the hospital in a critical condition, died within 30 minutes.
The students alleged that there was no doctor on duty to attend him and Ananda died of negligence. Peeved over the incident, the irate students ransacked the hospital room and allegedly assaulted a doctor.
Police later arrested four students after the hospital staff lodged a complaint. The body was sent for post mortem and the parents were informed.
Police patrolling has been beefed up near the college area to avert any untoward incident.
