Silver opens weak, gold shoots up

Mumbai, Jul 13: A mixed trend was seen in bullion opening prices as silver eased modestly on thin demand while gold shot up on bullish global advice, according to traders in the bullion market today.

Following were the today's opening rates : Silver (per kg) .999 fineness grade : Rs 18,185, Gold (per 10 gm): Gold 99.5 purity standard mint: : Rs 9,730, Gold 99.9 purity variety : Rs 9,780.
