Shahabuddin moves SC for transfer of cases from Bihar
New Delhi, July 13 (UNI) Controversial RJD MP from Siwan Mohammad Shahabuddin has moved the Supreme Court, seeking transfer of all criminal cases against him from Bihar.
The petitioner has also challenged the two notifications issued by the Bihar government, saying the trial of the cases pending against him in a sessions court and the court of judicial magistrate will be held inside the jail.
According to the RJD MP, free and fair trial was not possible in Bihar due to the biased attitude of the Nitish Kumar government in the state. He also cited the instances of alleged maltreatment meted out to him in the Siwan jail.
Shahabuddin was transferred from Bhagalpur jail to Siwan jail to face trial in cases pending against him in Siwan.
