Shabir Shah and 20 others arrested in Srinagar
Srinagar, Jul 13: Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party (DFP) chief Shabir Ahmad Shah was today taken into preventive custody alongwith 20 others near here, official sources said.
They said Mr Shah and supporters were taken into custody for violating prohibitory orders.
A spokesman for the DFP told UNI that Mr Shah alongwith other leaders of his party was on way to martyrs grave yard at Naqashband sahib in the down town from his party headquarters to pay tribute to martyrs of 1931.
However, when they reached Munwarabad near here, police stopped them from going towards the Naqashband sahib. Police later arrested Mr Shah and 20 others after resorting to mild lathicharge to diserpse them.
