Sensex opens in red, recover losses soon
Mumbai, Jul 13: The BSE Sensex today opened in the red by seven points at 10,922.61 points and soon touched a low of 10,831.83 points.
However the sensitive index recovered from the lower level as the cement and metal shares moved up the ladder.
Currently the Sensex is trading at 10,844.85 points which is 85 points below the previous close.
Amongst the sectoral indices on the BSE midcap, smallcap, PSU and metals were trading in the green between 0.3 to 0.5 per cent, whereas, all other indices were down in red.
Major gainers on the index were - Grasim, ONGC, Hindalco, ACC, Gujarat Ambuja Cement, Ranbaxy, SBI and Tata Steel. Reliance Energy, and Cipla, all up between 0.54 to 2.15 per cent.
Besides, the major losers were - Infosys, Wipro, Hero Honda, Bharti Airtel, Reliance Industries, Maruti Udyog, HDFC Bank, Satyam Computers and BHEL all down between 1.14 and 50.57 per cent.
