Scottish cable car incident injures up to eight

LONDON, July 13 (Reuters) Up to eight people were injured, some seriously, after two cable cars collided on the Nevis mountain range near Fort William in Scotland, rescue services said today.

A spokesman for the RAF Kinloss mountain rescue team told Sky News that between five and eight people had been injured.

Several had suffered head, chest and leg injuries after being thrown out of the cars, he said.

Three helicopters were ferrying mountain rescue teams and medical staff to the site of the incident.

A spokeswoman for the Nevis Range mountain park confirmed an incident had taken place but was unable to give any more details.
