SC vacation benches dispose of 263 matters

New Delhi, July 13 (UNI) The two benches constituted by the Chief justice of India Y.K. sabharwal during summer vacations this year disposed off 263 matters including 49 old cases.

The two vacation benches were constituted by the chief justice as initiative by the apex court to dispose of the cases especially old cases expeditiously.

A press release issued by the Registrar General V.K. Jain said in all 673 matters were heard by the two benches out of which 263 were decided and verdict in 22 cases was reserved. Out of 447 old regular matters 49 cases were disposes off and judgment in 56 such matters was reserved.

The endeavour could succeed only due to the willingness and readiness of hon'ble judges to word during vacations from May 15 to July 2 coupled with full co-operation of the members of the Bar.
