Satta operators to be externed from district

Bhopal, July 13(UNI) The Madhya Pradesh government has decided to extern from the district satta operators, who were found guilty thrice for committing the same offence in three years.

In this regard, the state cabinet has approved a proposal to amend the Madhya Pradesh State Security Act 1990 by inserting section 4(A). While considering the proposal, the cabinet held that the act of operating satta was not merely a crime but a social evil which adversely affected the common people, official sources said today.

Under section 4(A) of the Act, the district magistrate will be empowered to extern from the district those held guilty three times for the same offence in three years. The act of playing satta, gambling and printing or publication of figures or pictures have been declared as punishable offences.
