Rupee weakens by 12 paise; closes at Rs 46.32/34/USD

Mumbai, July 13: Indian currency today weakened by twelve paise to close at Rs 46.32/34/US Dollar as compared to the previous close of Rs 46.24/US Dollar, a trader in the money market said.

Earlier Rupee opened at Rs 46.26/28/US Dollar and in the mid-morning session traded at 46.27/29/US Dollar.

The six month forward premia was fixed at 1.10 per cent and the one year premia at 1.21 per cent.

RBI fixed the Reference Rate at Rs 46.29/US Dollar today.

Rupee performance against other currencies was also not very good: Rupee vs Euro was up at Rs 58.72, Rupee vs Pound Sterling was at Rs 85.12 and agaist yen it was Rs 40.10.
