RAF Harrier jet crashes in Oxfordshire
LONDON, July 13 (Reuters) An RAF Harrier jet crashed near Kidlington, Oxfordshire, yesterday, the Ministry of Defence said.
The pilot ejected safely, an MoD spokesman said, just before the crash at around 5 p.m. (local time).
The jet had been on route to the nearby RAF base at Fairford in Gloucestershire for this weekend's Royal International Air Tatoo.
The plane came down on the A4260 road to Banbury near the village of Tackley, a fire services spokesman said.
''It's actually come down on the roadway. We have extinguished the fire,'' he said.
