Poly Medicure applies for 8 patents

New Delhi, July 13 (UNI) Poly Medicure, manufacturer of health medical devices and disposables, has applied for 8 new patents and 2 FDA approvals for its new range of safety syringes and safety blood collection holders.

''The safety products are used so that the healthcare workers like doctors, nurses are protected from needle stick injuries, which can cause HIV and Hepatitis A and B infections,'' Poly Medicure MD Himanshu Baid said.

The company's brand, Polymed posted a turnover of Rs 73 crore for the year 2005-06 and manufactured more than 40 different products under different categories like IV Cannulaes, Infusion Therapy Devices, Central Venous Access Catheters.

The company is also exporting its range of products to more than 50 countries across different continents including Europe, Africa, Asia and South America.

It is also expanding its present capacity of 13 crore to 18 crore with the capital expenditure of 25 crores, to cater to the burgeoning demand in the domestic and international market.
