PM to visit blast-hit Mumbai tomorrow
New Delhi, July 13: Prime Minister Manmohan Singh will tomorrow visit Mumbai, the scene of seven serial blasts on local trains on Tuesday, to hold a meeting with the state government and call on some of the injured being treated in various hospitals.
Dr Singh will leave here around noon and be back in the evening, official sources said.
The Prime Minister is likely to address a press conference at Mumbai airport at the end of his brief visit, the sources said.
Immediately after the blasts in Mumbai and Srinagar, Dr Singh had held an emergency meeting with Home Minister Shivraj Patil and his top aides following which Mr Patil, UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi and Railway Minister Lalu Prasad visited the commercial capital of India the same evening.
He had strongly condemned the terrorist attacks in his address to the nation yesterday, while the Union Cabinet today made it clear the government would fight the menace until it was wiped out.
