Notification on LIDA soon

Lucknow, July 13 (UNI) An ambitious new industrial-cum-residential township with industrial units, state-of-the-art buildings, ultra-modern malls and commercial hubs on the lines of Noida and Greater Noida is coming up on the outskirts of the state capital.

Uttar Pradesh Industrial Develeopment Corporation (UPSIDC) has been entrusted with the task of developing Lucknow Industrial Development Authority (LIDA) on 2000 acre land between Lucknow and neighbouring disrict of Unnao.

The grand success of Noida and Greater Noida has encouraged UP government to take up the project considering no such industrial authority had yet been planned in this part of the state.

A notification in this regard is likley to be issued by early next week followed by acquisition of land, the Additional Chief Executive Officer of LIDA Vivek Varshney told UNI here.

The list of villages, the land of which would be acquired, had been prepared and all the modalities about compensation to the vilagers would start immediately after the UP government issued the notification, he said.

Private comapnies would be invited to set up ndustries- Information technology (IT) being the thrust sector of the government. The emphasis would be on the large units and the allotment of land would be done on the open tender basis, industries Department sources said.

LIDA has been scheduled to be developed in short span of two years while it would take about five years to get saturated. The industrial township , starting from Amausi airport of Lucknow, would extend upto the leather park, another major industrial pocket in Unnao.

The development of this township would be a giant leap of UP government in the field of industries coinciding with the development of Greater NOIDA-phase two.

The location of this ambitious project is very crucial as it would bridge the gap between two major towns-Lucknow and Kanpur, considered to be the industrial capital of the state.

Other advanatge for the success of this project lies in the fact that it would be developed along the expressway linking Lucknow and Kanpur.
