MP to set up Gau Seva Ayog

Bhopal, July 13(UNI) The Madhya Pradesh government has initiated steps to constitute Gau Seva Ayog in place of Cattle Conservation Board in order to efficiently implement cattle conservation and development activities.

Organisational structure and activities of the proposed Ayog were discussed at a meeting chaired by Chief Minister S S Chouhan here yesterday. Former chief minister Sunderlal Patwa and State Planning Board Vice Chairman Sompal Shastri, besides Cattle Conservation Board Chairman Meghraj Jain also attended the meeting.

The Ayog will promote production of bio-fertiliser, bio-pesticides and grant assistance for cow sheds and maintenance of environmental balance, official sources said.

The government has already imposed total ban on slaughter of cow, calf, bull and ox. Slaughter of only buffaloes would be allowed.
