MP secures IInd place in Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan funds utilisation
Bhopal, July 13 (UNI) Madhya Pradesh has secured second place -- only after Uttar Pradesh -- in respect of allotment of funds and amount spent under the Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan during 2005-06.
Under the scheme, the Centre provides 75 per cent funds, while the state governments contribute 25 per cent amount for implementing the scheme.
The state -- which received Rs 771. 73 crore from the Centre for implementing the Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan -- spent Rs 1,040.47 crore including its share, an official release said here today.
On the other hand, Uttar Pradesh -- which received Rs 1,827.99 crore under the scheme -- spent Rs 2,233. 73 crore on its execution.
Rajasthan received Rs 603.13 crore and spent Rs 758. 84 for the scheme securing third place, while Maharashtra received Rs 502.35 crore and spent Rs 604.58 crore to acquire fourth spot.
Andhra Pradesh, which got fifth rank, had received Rs 379.99 crore and spent Rs 558.16 crore for the Abhiyan, the release added.
