MP Sahitya Academy to confer awards to 28 litterateurs

Bhopal, July 13 (UNI) The Madhya Pradesh Sahitya Academy (MPSA) has decided to confer its awards to 28 litterateurs.

Governor Balram Jakhar would present the awards to litterateurs for 1998-2000 and 2001-02 at a function -- to be chaired by Culture Minister Lakshmikant Sharma -- to be organised here on July 15.

MPSA Director Devandra Deepak said national awards for 1998-2000 consisting Rs 11,000 each would be given to Mr Alok Dhanwa, Ms Chitra Mudgal, Mr Ramakant Srivastava, Mr Arvind Tripathi and Mr Ravindra Kalia.

The Academy's regional awards consisting Rs 7,000 each would be conferred upon Mr Om Bharti, Mr Mahesh Katar, Mr Satyen Kumar, late Dr Malam Singh, Dr Ramkrishna Saraf, Mr Pawan Karan, Mr Sanjay Sham, Mr Santosh Khare and Ms Malti Basant.

Dr Deepak said Akhil Bharatiya and regional awards for 2001-02 carried Rs 15,000 each. The Akhil Bharatiya awards would be bestowed upon Mr Ashutosh Dubey, Mr Jitendra Bhatia, Dr Panni Singh and Dr Rajendra Mishra.

Mr Rajesh Jain, Mr Rajnarayan Bohre, Mr Ajit Choudhary, Dr Gyan Chaturvedi, Mr Premshankar Shukl, Mr Ramkishore Mehta, Ms Ratibhanu Tiwari and Mr Pradeep Mishra were selected for regional awards besides Dr Prabhakar Kshotriya and Dr Sewaram Tripathi, who would be honoured with a joint award.

On the second day of seminar, discussion would be held on the topic 'Kuch baat hai ki hasti mitt ti nahi hamari'. The session -- to be chaired by Dr Govindchandra Pandey -- would be participated by litterateur awardees of 1998-2000.

During the second session, discussion would be held on topic 'Hindi hain hum, vatan hai Hindustan hamara'. The session -- to be chaired by Padmshri Dr Rameshchandra Shah -- would be participated by litterateur awardees of 2001-02.
