Movement to protest change of East West Corridor through Dooars

Siliguri, Jul 13 (UNI) The East West Corridor Movement Committee today called a 24-hour strike tomorrow in the Dooars region demanding construction of the proposed corridor through the region in West Bengal.

Committee secretary Prabhat Dey alleged to UNI that the course of the highway has been changed and it would not go through Dooars anymore.

The changing of the highway's course would dampen the aspirations of the people, he said.

The committee would organise road blockades in different places to press for their demands, he said.
