Maharashtra, UP qualify for quarter finals league
Chandigarh, July 13 (UNI) Maharashtra ousted Delhi by defeating them with a 6-0 margin in a Cluster F qualifying round match in the third Junior Girls Under-17 Football Championship at the Punjab Engineering College Campus here today.
Maharashtra's and Tripura, with one win each, will lock horns in the Group II quarter-final league.
Erika Lobbo was the star performer for Maharashtra as she scored three goals while Akansha Singh scored a brace and Trishal Desai rounded off the winners' tally in the 65th minute.
Rajasthan got a walk over, as thei opponents Himachal Pradesh failed to turn up for their Clustrer E qualifying round match.
Earlier in the day Punjab routed Gujarat 28-0 in a Cluster H qualifying round match. Uttar Pradesh registered their second successive triumph in Cluster G after beating Kerala by a solitary goal. With six points from two matches, Uttar Pradesh qualified for the Group B quarter-final league.
