Lifer to duo in kidnap and murder case

Madikeri, Karnataka, July 13 (UNI) A lower court here has convicted and sentenced two persons to life imprisonment on charges of kidnapping and murder.

The district and sessions court also imposed a fine of Rs 2,000 each on the duo.

The prosecution case was that one N C Bopanna and M C Ratish of Shirangalli near Madapur had hired a taxi from Mysore in 2000. The duo had strangulated the driver M Ramanna to death and threw the body in the forest here. The culprits then dismantled the car and sold the parts in Mysore.

Police recovered the decomposed body later and began investigation.
