Hyderabad, July 13 (UNI) Lie-detector test continued for the second and last day on former Chairman of the collapsed Krishi Bank Kosaraju Venkateswara Rao at the Andhra Pradesh Forensic Science Laboratory.

The police, who obtained custody of Rao, who was extradited from Thailand after he was alleged of cheating depositors in a multi-crore scam, also obtained court permission to subject the accused to a lie-detector test to ensure that he spoke truth during their interrogation.

Rao was brought from Chanchalguda Central prison yesterday and subjected to the test and later handed over to the jail authorities.

He was once again brought from the prison today and taken to the Forensic Science Lab.

As the CID officials investigating the case were barred from directly questioning the accused, they prepared a questionaire and handed them over to the forensic experts at the lab.

Rao and some of the former directors of the bank were accused of taking loans in the names of fictitious companies and later vanishing into thin air, after closing the bank. While 23 of the former directors were quickly nabbed by the police, Rao has escaped their dragnet.

Rao was, however, traced in Bangkok and after a laborious process, he was brought back to Hyderabad, amid tight security.
