JMM leader demands early implementation of minority schmes

Jamshedpur, July 13 (UNI) The Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) today urged the East Singhbhum district administration to conduct a survey in the Muslim populated areas for proper implementation of the 15-point programme for the upliftment of minority sections.

A delegation of the JMM, led by the central committee member of the party Nasar Firdausi, asked the District Deputy Commissioner N M Kulkarni to get the full statement of the minority welfare schemes announced by the Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.

He said the administration should carry out a thorough survey in the minority-infested areas prior to implementation of the government-sponsored schemes. Mr Kulkarni is said to have given assurance to the delegation for an early implementation of the programmes.

Later talking to newsmen, Dr Firdausi alleged that the state government fulfilled its duty towards the minorities by earmarking the burial grounds but no positive steps were being taken.

He said the government was yet to give affiliation to those schools which were imparting education to the poor and down trodden classes belonging to the minority communities.

The JMM leader warned that the party would compel to launch agitation if the government failed to implement the minority welfare schemes.
