Insurgents kill six including 5 Hindus in Poonch and Doda

Jammu, July 13: Insurgents have killed six people, including five Hindus, in three incidents in Poonch and Doda districts in Jammu and Kashmir last night, police today said.

Police sources said terrorists struck at two houses of one Mangat Ram Sharma at around 2230 hrs and shot dead two of his daughters -- Priyanka Sharma (18) and Meenakshi Sharma (8). His wife Sunita Devi (40) and daughter Kamini Sharma were injured in the attack.

Terrorist also shot dead Lokesh Kumar (20), and Pankaj Kumar (17). Sunita Devi was admitted to District Hospital while critically injured Kamini was referred to the Government Medical College Hospital (GMCH), Jammu.

Senior officials have rushed to the spot. The area has been sealed and combing operations are on to nab the culprits. No any terrorist outfit has taken the responsibility of killing so far.

In village Sangiot under Mendhar police stattion the terrorist gunned down Sakeena, wife of a police constable last night.

A report from Doda said suspected Lashkar-e-Toiba militants killed a Village Defence Committee (VDC) member Mir Chand in Jangle near Bhaderwah town.

Police said the terrorist tortured him before killing him.

UNI
