Home Guard official gets RI for taking bribe

New Delhi, July 13 (UNI) A special special CBI Court has sentenced Company commander with home Guard to one-year rigorous imprisonment (RI) and also imposed a fine of Rs 5000 for allegedly asking for a bribe from a constable, for his transfer to a preferred place, nine years ago.

CBI Judge A Gaur pronounced the sentence on Ramesh Jain as he had asked for a bribe of Rs 200 from Joginder Singh for the favour.

Anti-corruption branch caught him red-handed accepting the bribe on September 22, 1997.
