Excise squad seizes 13,700 litres of spirit

Palakkad, July 13 (UNI) An Excise squad seized 13,700 litres of rectified spirit valued at Rs 27 lakh from a tanker lorry at the Walayar checkpost today.

The squad seized the spirit after a chase as the vehicle did not stop at the checkpost. The driver and other occupants of the tanker managed to escape.

The spirit was concealed in 33 cans.
