Employees of General Insurance co hold strike

New Delhi, July 13 (UNI) Employees of the General Insurance company today held a one-hour country-wide strike against what they descined as ''imposition of unilateral and arbitrary transfer and mobility policy on Class III employees and to demand restoration of existing benefits snatched away along with recent wage revision.

In the capital, about 1000 employees participated in a massive demonstration infront of Jeevan Bharti building from 1230 hours to 1400 hours. The employees asked the management to call the General Insurance Employees Association for discussion on the TMP so that a uniform and practical guideline on the basis of requirement or need of the companies could be framed.

In Chennai, the general secretary of the association is on an indefinite strike from yesterday evening infront of the head office of the United India Insurance company Ltd against the arbitrary and unilateral imposition of TMP on class three employees.
