CIJWS to setup NE heritage museum
Aizawl, Jul 13 (UNI) Apart from their anti-terrorist training, Counter Insurgency Jungle Warfare School (CIJWS) has decided to setup a museum, which comprise all NE states' cultural heritage.
Talking to UNI here today, CIJWS spokesperson Col. Bawa said ''this project not only aims to protect the NE cultural identity, but also to encourge the artists across the region''.
We have already identified a suitable place, in our campus, for transforming into a multi-cultural museum centre, he added.
Col. Bawa also pointed out that CIJW school would be collecting valuable items from old-age handicrafts to painting and from ornaments to weapons, from all the NE states and said ''we are in the process of sending a detail project report to all the seven states''.
''Apart from this, we already started collecting rare photographs, handicrafts and other related items from across the NE states for the project,'' he said.
''This proposed museum will not only project NE heritage to our local soilders, but also to thousands of army troops, who come to train here from different countries,'' he said.
