Centre allows K'taka to start 2 medical colleges
Bangalore, July 13 (UNI) The Union Government has granted permission to Karnataka to start two medical colleges--one each in Belgaum and Mandya--from this academic year, Medical Education Minister V S Acharya informed the Legislative Council.
Making a statement in the House yesterday, he said the two colleges would be built on par with global standards. Each would have the capacity to admit 100 students.
Dr Acharya said the state government would make all efforts to start four more medical colleges from the next academic year.
