Central Excise Inspector jailed for irregularities
Patna, July 13 (UNI) A special CBI court today remanded to judicial custody Central Excise inspector Pankaj Kumar in a case related to corruption.
The accused during the day surrendered before the court and filed a bail petition which was later rejected by CBI Judge (in-charge) Muni Lal Paswan after hearing.
Sharma was remanded to the Beur Central Jail till July 27.
During a surprise inspection in gowdowns of Customs on June 11, 2002, the CBI found items worth Rs 1,78,700 missing.
Sharma was posted as a Custom Inspector and incharge of the gowdown in 2001.
