Bomb scare turns hoax in Rajkot
Rajkot, July 13 (UNI) A bomb scare at the rooftop of the Rajkot Seeds Oil and Bullion Merchants Association's building here today turned out to be a hoax after the police evacuated and searched the place thoroughly.
According to the police, the Association's peon, Kishore Purshotambhai, received a call from an anonymous person this morning, who said that bombs had been planted on the rooftop of the building and also at the UCO Bank office, situated on the ground floor of the building.
The caller threatened that the bombs would go off in ten minutes.
Frightened, Purshotambhai narrated the incident to the Association's Executive Director P B Pathak, who informed the police.
The police immediately pressed into service sniffer dogs and bomb disposal squad, whose members conducted a thorough search but found nothing.
A similar call was received at the Marketing Yard, situted on the outskirts of the city, which also turned out to be a hoax, police added.
