Blue Dart Express Q2 net profit up by 6.92%
New Delhi, July 13 (UNI) Blue Dart Express Ltd, an express courier and package distribution company, today declared 6.92 per cent increase in net profit to Rs 11.12 crore for finacial quarter ended June 30, 2006, as against Rs 10.40 crore during the same period last year.
The company registered income of Rs 157.35 crore from operations for the Q2 FY06, an increase of 21.60 per cent over the corresponding quarter of the previous year.
''This quarter we have focused on strengthening and expanding our air infrastructure with a view to support India's future economic growth and increasing demand for distribution'' company's MD Malcolm Monteiro said.
Two Boeing 757-200 freighters have been inducted into Blue Dart Express's existing fleet of five Boeing 737-200s, taking its air capacity to 250 tonnes per night across 60 route connections.
