ABVP activists bid to ransack mosque foiled

Surat, July 13 (UNI) The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) activists today allegedly tried to enter and ransack a mosque in Udhna Darwaja area here, but their attempt was foiled by the police.

The activists had held a demonstration this evening against Tuesday's Mumbai blasts in particular and he rise in ''terrorist activities''across the country in general, police sources said.

However, the timely intervention prevented the situation from going out of control, sources added.
