VHP wants war with Pak, asks govt to resign for its failure

New Delhi, July 12 (UNI) The Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) today demanded resignation of the Manmohan Singh government for failing to tackle terrorism and said war with Pakistan was the only option for durable peace in the region.

If the present government was incapable of containing regular terror attacks it must resign and Pakistan be served a three-month ultimatum to stop all its nefarious activities on Indian soil, and if it still persisted with it, war may be declared to solve the problem once and for all, said senior VHP leader Giriraj Kishore addressing mediapersons.

''Only through war this festering problem can be solved. Whoever wins, peace will at last prevail. Until then this pin-pricking by Pakistan would continue.'' All diplomatic ties with Pakistan be severed and it given the message that we are polite but not weak, he said adding ''It was because of the soft approach of Confidence Building Measures (CBMs) which was being used as a veneer to continue with its disruptive activities.'' He said the military be given more powers which was capable of solving the problem on its own, and a national government involving all parties be formed that would jointly work on the issue and not play politics, he said.

''This business of issuing 'red alert' off and on was a mockery with people not taking it seriously anymore. Even Pakistan understands that they just speak and don't act.'' The VHP leader also said Mumbai was the economic hub of the country and Pakistan was bent upon disrupting peace there to further its design of crippling India financially, he added.
