Top ULFA leaders killed in Asom

Guwahati, Jul 12 (UNI) Four top ULFA leaders were killed today in an encounter with security forces in the Asom-Meghalaya border.

Official sources here said the deceased were identified as Rubul Ali, Prabal Dutta, Dulu Kalita and Rudra kalita.

Among them Rubul Ali was the seniormost and the mastermind behind the recent bombing of Lower Asom.

The killing came barely 24 hours after another such incident at Baganpara near Nalabari, where two mid-level ULFA leaders were killed.

The incident occurred inside Meghalaya near Adabgiri, where Meghalaya Police and Army acting on a tip-off, killed the ULFA leaders.

The incident had already caused sensation as both Centre and ULFA had agreed to a near ceasefire like situation before the beginning of direct talk. Already three districts of Lower Asom were observing bandh today against the killing of other two.
