Stay calm: Pune Police Commissioner

Pune, July 12 (uni) City Police Commissioner D N Jadhav today again appealed to the citizens to remain calm and refrain from indulging or listening to the rumours following yesterday's serial bomb blasts on the Mumbai's suburban Western trains.

The Police Commissioner has sent a message through BSNL mobile service and is holding a meeting of the peace committee here.

In the message, Mr Jadhav said: ''The usual security drills are being followed. All the lodges are being checked and patroling has been stepped up in all the public places like bus stops, stations, theatres.

The entire route from Pune-Lonavala was checked and even the dog squads have been pressed into the service.'' The city has been put on high alert, with security being beefed up at all the public places. There are more policemen at the chowkis and nakabandis.
