Sri Ravi Shankar calls for fight against terror
Bangalore, Jul 12: Spiritual leader Sri Sri Ravi Shankar has strongly condemned the serial bomb blasts in suburban trains in Mumbai yesterday and appealed for peace, prayer and action.
In a statement issued from Bay Area in the United States, he said ''the world can no longer keep quiet at such violent acts of terrorism. Citizens, religious institutions, NGOs and Governments should now come together, cutting across religious divides, to isolate the extremist elements and fight terrorism.'' Rajya Sabha Deputy Chairman K Rehman Khan, in a release here, condemned the blasts as a ''cowardly act'' and said ''people who are spreading terrorism and hatredness doesn't belong to any religion or to the humanity.'' Stating that terrorism should be fought unitedly, he appealed to the people to remain united at this hour of crisis and maintain calm and peace, which was the best way to defeat terrorism.
