Shiv Sena, VHP, Bajrang Dal enforce bandh in Kolhapur
Kolhapur, July 12 (UNI) The Shiv Sena, Hindu Ekata, Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) and Bajrang Dal today called a bandh in the city to protest against the serial blasts in Mumbai's subrurban Western Railway last evening.
All shops, hotels and restaurants, markets and other business establishments in the city remained shut. The state transport (ST) buses, autorickshaws, private vehicle operators were funcitoning normally. However, city buses on certain routes were suspended around noon after some activists tried to stop them.
Police have detained some activists while trying to pressurise traders to down shutters. Activists assembled at Gangawesh area here and paid tributes to those who lost their lives in the blasts.
The bandh was peaceful and no untoward incident has been reported so far, added police.
