Sheila unveils statue of Mahatama Gandhi at Ulaanbaatar

New Delhi, July 12 (UNI) Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit has unveiled a statue of Mahatma Gandhi in Mongolian capital Ulaanbaatar.

According to an official spokesman, Ulaanbaatar Governor and Mayor T Batbayar was also present at the statue unveiling function in Mahatma Gandhi street yesterday.

Speaking on the occasion, organised as part of the Mongolian National festival 'Naadam', Ms Dikshit expressed hope the event would bring the people of India and Mongolia closer.

The Chief Minister also called on the President, the Prime Minister, and the Speaker of Mongolian Parliament. She also attended banquets hosted by the Mongolian President and the Governor of Ulaanbaatar.

Ms Dikshit would start on her return journey to Delhi tomorrow.
