Rupee opens softer a day after serial blasts
Mumbai, Jul 12: The rupee opened softer against the US dollar at Rs 46.21/24 per USD on this morning session after a series of deadly bomb blasts yesterday in the financial capital Mumbai, dealers said.
The rupee was slow to start. It was quoted lower at 46.25/27 per dollar in intra morning session from Tuesday's finish at 46.1700/1750, but then minutes later traded at about 46.22 per dollar.
There was lack of staff-members at various offices due to poor frequancy of road transport system such as western railways lines, a leadng forex merchant said.
