Prof Soz condemns Srinagar killings

New Delhi, Jul 12: Union Water Resources Minister Prof Saifuddin Soz today strongly condemned the killing of several tourists and injuries to dozens of others in a series of grenade blasts in Srinagar yesterday and described such acts as act of desperation.

The killing of the tourists who had come to enjoy their holidays is aimed at harming the tourism industry in Jammu and Kashmir with a view to hit the source of living of throusands of people of the state, said Prof Soz in a statement here.

Expressing anguish and pain over these incidents, Prof Soz said the incidents were ''unfortunate and need to be condemned vehemently''.

And, those responsible for the violence, should be brought to justice.

Prof Soz also conveyed condolences to the bereaved families.
