Policeman commits suicide

Varanasi, July 12 (UNI) Fed up with domestic spats, a police constable allegedly committed suicide by consuming poison in the neighbouring Chandauli district of Uttar Pradesh.

Police said here Rakesh Singh (35), hailing from Mirzamurad area of Varanasi and posted at Kotwali police station in Chandauli, was admitted to hospital late Monday night after he had consumed poison at his rented house in Mughalsarai.

The cop succumbed early yesterday at hospital.

The body had been sent for autopsy.
