Police release photograph of Let militant, announce Rs 5 lakh reward
Srinagar, July 12 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir police today released a photograph of a Lashker-e-Toiba (LeT) militant Mudasir, believed to the mastermind behind the series of grenade blasts that rocked the city yesterday.
The police have also announced a reward of Rs five lakh to anyone providing information about Mudasir alias Raju alias Mansoor. The name of the person providing clues about the militant will be kept secret and he or his kin would be provided employment in the police department, they added.
Police released the picture of Mudasir and appealed people to help the security foces to nab the militant involved in a number of civilans killings, bomb and grenade blasts in the valley.
A police spokesman said during interrogation of a militant Afzal alias Saleem arrested by the security forces at Tourist Reception Centre (TRC) after fifth grenade blast yesteray, he identified a number of militants hideouts across the Kashmir valley.
He said police raided several hideouts to nab the militants identified by Saleem.
During the raids, police busted a hideout at Diyalgam in south Kashmir and killed Pakistani Militant Aari Anas alias Abu Osman. One police official was also injured in the encounter, he said.
Eight people were killed and 38 others injured in yesterday's grenade blasts in the valley.
