Nine women rescued in a major landslide in Aizawl

Aizawl, July 12 (UNI) About nine women labouers, under the inter- village road construction, in Aizawl have been rescued last night in a disastrous landslide.

Police said the mishap occured when the earth above road slipped down the road below hurting hundred of labourers working for widening of the Tuithiang-Armed Veng-Bethlehem Vengthlang inter-village road near the state capital.

Hundreds of people, including police personnel, went for the rescue of the victims burried in the debris.

The victims were immediately rushed to the nearest civil hospital.

Local administration minister H Vanlalavua visited the victims at the hospital.
